The Following [Dying Light DLC] Review

*Contains Spoilers*
A Must-Play Continuation
The Following continues Kyle Crane’s story beyond the quarantine walls of Harran, where he seeks to find a rumored “cure” for the virus. As he will soon find out, securing the “cure” and saving the civilians of Harran is far more perilous than anyone could have imagined.

If you’ve completed the main game, you may be wondering why you should pick up The Following. While I would love to have another heartfelt response for you, the short answer - vehicles! The DLC introduces off-road vehicles Crane can use to traverse the wide open countryside, which he can upgrade like any other weapon. Find new parts, blueprints, or unlock new skills to make your ride even more useful.

However, the vehicles are not the only thing that makes the DLC worth playing. By the end of Dying Light, you may have some questions regarding virus, fate of the survivors, and Kyle Crane himself. The Following does a nice job of tying up many of those loose ends while also providing a similar, yet fresh survival experience. Meet members of the farming community outside Harran’s walls, do favors to earn their trust, and uncover the truth behind the “cure”.

The DLC is surprisingly lengthy, considering Dying Light alone took many hours to fully complete. There are also three possible endings to The Following depending on the choices you make. Worried about losing your level progress from the main game after you transition into the DLC? Never fear! You can hop back and forth between Dying Light and The Following at any time and keep your character stats.

If you enjoyed Dying Light, I highly recommend picking up The Following. It is fun to play alone but especially so with friends as you can share vehicles and take on the undead horde together.
